People sometimes say “yes” without even wanting to because they don’t want to offend anyone or because of any social or moral pressure. We are sure that the NO, which is required in your life, will make you a very successful person. Who knows, you may become a celebrity.

Sometimes saying ‘no‘ is post-KARMA happiness. But just like saying “yes” to someone, you can also say “no” when you are not willing to do that work. Saying “no” to someone shows you are being judgmental. However, the truth is that we say yes to a lot of things we don’t want to do.
Many meetings are held that do not have to be held. But after many things, you will think that it is better to say “no” than “yes.“.
When somebody asks you to do something, how often do you just say, “Yeah, sure, I am ready?” You’re overwhelmed by the amount of work on your to-do list some days later. We grow irritated by our responsibilities, despite the fact that we were the ones who agreed to them in the first place.
It’s worth considering whether or not certain things are required. Many of them aren’t, and a simple “no” will be more productive than the most efficient person’s best efforts. But if the advantages of saying no are so clear, why do we say yes so frequently?
WHAT THE REASON BEHIND OF SAYING ‘YES’
If someone says “yes,” there could be many reasons behind it. For example, maybe that person really wants to do that work, or the reason for saying “yes” could be some pressure, fear, love, stress, or even ignorance. A good example of this is that even if a child eats a lot of toffee, he does not refuse the incoming toffee.
The child’s ignorance or greed leads him to say “yes.“. Many requests are accepted, not because we want to, but because we don’t want to be perceived as impolite, arrogant, or useless. Frequently, you must contemplate saying no to someone with whom you will interact again in the future—a coworker, a spouse, relatives, or friends.
It’s very tough to say no to these people since we care about them and want to help them. (Not to mention that we frequently require their assistance.) Collaborating with others is a necessary part of life. The prospect of straining the connection surpasses our time and energy investment. As a result, being generous in your reaction can be beneficial.
Do whatever favours you can, and when you have to say no, be nice and direct. However, even after accounting for these social implications, many of us appear to struggle with handling the yes or no choice. We find ourselves over-committed to things that don’t help or support those around us in any significant way and certainly don’t improve our personal lives. Another difficulty could be the way we think about the meaning of yes or no.
“NO” have important role
Expressing no is sometimes regarded as a luxury available only to people in positions of power. It’s true that turning down opportunities is simpler when you have the security net of power, money, and authority. However, it’s also true that choosing no isn’t only a luxury reserved for the wealthy.
It is also a method that can assist you in achieving your goals. Answering no is a valuable skill to master at any point in your career because it allows you to keep your most valuable asset: your time. Well, if you don’t guard your time, they will steal it from you.
You must say no to anything that does not help you achieve your objectives. Distractions must be avoided at all costs.There is a delicate balance to be struck here. Saying no does not imply that you will never do something exciting, novel, or spontaneous. It just implies that you say yes with intention. After you’ve eliminated the distractions, it may make sense to accept any chance that could help you progress on the right path.
It’s possible that you’ll have to try a lot of different things before figuring out what works and what you appreciate. This moment of discovery is especially crucial at the start of a project, employment, or profession.
WHAT ACTUAL ‘YES’ / ‘NO’ MEANS
The expressions “yes” and “no” are used so frequently in relation to one another that they appear to have equal weight in discourse. In actuality, they are not only diametrically opposed in meaning but also in terms of commitment.
You are simply rejecting one choice when you say no. When you say yes, you’re essentially saying no to all other possibilities. Every time we say yes to a request, we are simultaneously saying no to whatever else we may accomplish with the time.
You’ve already decided how you’ll spend that future block of time after you’ve committed to anything. Choosing no, in other words, saves you time in the long run. Saying yes now will cost you time later. No is a time-credit option. You maintain the freedom to use your future time as you see fit. Time debt is a type of yes. At some point, you’ll have to repay your debt.
HOW: THE WAY YOU MUST SAY ‘NO’
Most of us are likely to say yes too quickly and no too slowly. It’s worth considering where you fall on the scale. It’s a yes if an opportunity excites you enough to leave whatever you’re doing right now. If it isn’t, you might want to reconsider. If anybody asks you to do something and your immediate reaction is “Hell yeah!” then you should go ahead and do it. Say no if it does not excite you.
It’s difficult to remember to ask yourself these questions every time you have to make a decision, but it’s still a good habit to get into. Although saying no can be tough, it is often preferable to the alternative. It’s simpler to avoid obligations than it is to get out of them.
Saying no keeps you on the less difficult end of the range. In the same way that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure in health, the same is true in productivity.

More time is spent on things that don’t matter than on things that are done wastefully. If that’s the case, removal is a better skill to have than optimization.

You must continually raise your threshold for saying yes as your talents grow and you learn to distinguish what works from what doesn’t. You must still say no to distractions, but you must also learn to say no to chances that were previously good uses of time in order to make room for exceptional ones. It’s a fantastic problem to have, but mastering it can be difficult. In other words, you must gradually improve your “NO’s.”
This will enhance the power of no and its use. Just because you’ve upgraded your NO doesn’t imply you’ll never say yes. It simply implies that you default to saying no and only say yes when absolutely necessary. “ Telling no is so important because it maintains the possibility of saying yes.
