Even though India has the largest railway network in the world, there are still countries where trains have not yet started. These include countries like Cyprus, Bhutan, Andorra, East Timor, Guinea-Bissau, Macau, Mauritius, Island, Micronesia, Oman, and Qatar, where no trains run.
Cyprus
Railways operated in Cyprus from 1905 to 1951. They were later shut down due to a financial crisis. Currently, no trains run here. It is hoped that in the future, trains will be powered by locomotives.
Guinea Bissau
In 1998, Guinea Bissau signed a railway agreement with Portugal but it never came to fruition. This West African country is still deprived of a railway. But this lack has been compensated by road transport.
East Timor
East Timor is a poor country. It seems very difficult to develop railways here. The main traffic is by road but the roads are also in very poor condition.
Andorra
Andorra is the 16th smallest country in the world which is located in Europe. The physical structure of Andorra is uneven. Its capital Andorra de Vella is the highest capital in Europe which is situated at a height of about 2356 feet above sea level. Thankfully, one can reach France railway station quickly from here.
Bhutan
Bhutan is also a landlocked country whose happiness index is quite high but the Himalayas have not left any plain land on this land of Buddha. Therefore, developing railways here is a very difficult task. However, India has extended the railways up to its border and China is continuously making efforts.
