The 1920s were brilliant in many ways, including the way that women looked, who for the first time in history genuinely questioned the rules of conservative fashion (the “flappers movement“ was particularly notable). One of the most obvious fashions of the era was the widespread use of updated bathing costumes, which no longer resembled solid, formless robes. Due to its popularity, there were a lot of swimsuit competitions held in the United States throughout those years.
We shall examine photos from these astonishing events that are not straightforward but rather panoramic. In the middle of the 1920s, the majority were produced in Galveston, Texas; Venice Beach, California; and Atlantic City, New Jersey. These panoramic pictures are part of the Library of Congress’s collection.
